Senate Rejects EFCC, ICPC Nominees — Leadership Newspaper

Image result for nigeria SENATEThe Senate session was thrown into a rowdy session yesterday as lawmakers rejected the nomination of candidates for appointments as members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

While some Senators voted for the confirmation of the nominees, others kicked against the approval of the nominations.
Those rejected for the EFCC’s jobs were Ndasule Moses, Lawan Mamman, Galadanci Imam Najib and Adeleke Adebayo Rafiu.
The lawmakers linked their action to the Executive of government’s failure to comply with Federal Character Act in the nomination.
The ICPC’s nominees who were rejected are Bolaji Owasanye (South West), Grace Chinda (South-South), Okolo Titus (South East), Obiora Igwedibia (South East), Olubukola Balogun (South West), Adamu Bello (North West), Hannatu Muhammed (North West), Abdullahi Maikano Saidu (North Central), and Yahaya Umar Dauda…
